Hair Restoration

Comprehensive Hair Restoration Lone Tree, Colorado

Hair loss and thinning hair are common problems across all genders.  As many as 60 million men and women suffer from hair loss!  We use a comprehensive approach and several modalities to slow, stop, and reverse the causes of hair loss.  One of the most common treatments used is called platelet-rich plasma (PRP). PRP is the part of your blood that contains growth factors, platelets, chemokines, and cytokines.  These ingredients help to stimulate follicular regeneration and growth.

The treatment begins with a blood draw from your arm.  The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the different components by density.  The “liquid gold” or PRP is removed and prepared for injection.  It is then injected through tiny needles into the area of your scalp tissue where the follicles reside.  The treatment itself takes about 45 minutes.  There are several options for pain prevention including numbing cream or injections and distraction devices.  Most clients find the treatment almost pain-less, quick, and easy!

In addition to PRP injections, we must treat the causes of hair loss.  After a thorough history and consultation, we will recommend several other steps or modalities.  Some of the other common tools include vitamins, topical hair products, topical medications, and oral medications.  We will discuss all of your options and develop a customized plan to reach your goals!

There are also several medical causes for hair loss that need to be ruled out or addressed.  With a background in medical dermatology, we are prepared to diagnose and treat the underlying causes that may be causing hair loss as a symptom.

Results

PRP injections for hair restoration are done in a series of treatments.  Generally, it is recommended to do 1 per month for the first 6 months, then 1 per quarter, then 2 per year, then 1 per year indefinitely.  This schedule helps to restore and maintain!  Results take as long as 3 months to begin to show.  Tiny hairs will be the first sign of efficacy!  We find most patients see these tiny hairs after about 3 to 4 treatments.  Maintenance and combination therapies are necessary for optimal and long-lasting results!

Side Effects & Recovery

There is no downtime or recovery after this treatment.  Because PRP is injected through tiny needles, bruises are possible.  Though they are rare, bruising can be as large as a pencil eraser and typically takes 1 week to resolve.
