Things to Avoid

  • Avoid massaging the treated areas; this includes spa facials, other facial procedures, or spa massages
  • Avoid exercise and strenuous activity until the day after your treatment.
  • Avoid laying face-down, hanging upside-down, or inverted yoga maneuvers for the first couple of hours
  • Avoid applying make-up or skincare products for at least 1 a full hour after treatment

Things to Remember

  • It is not uncommon to feel a slight headache after the treatment; most common after the first treatment
  • The effect of the medication begins to develop 5-7 days after treatment but can take up to 14 days to reach full effect
  • As the medication begins to take effect, there can be asymmetries and imbalances; they should resolve by day 14
  • The muscle weakness and softness of the skin after injection lasts about 3-4 months in most individuals
  • Bruising is possible but usually unlikely; bruises can take up to 14 days to completely resolve

  • Avoid exercise and strenuous activity until the day after your treatment

Things to Remember

  • Using antihistamines (Zyrtec, Claritin) after treatment can help to limit the swelling
  • Swelling and mild bruising is expected; it is worst the morning after treatment but can last up to 10 days
  • Taking /applying Arnica has been shown to improve bruising
  • Ice packs (not ice) can be helpful to decrease the swelling in the morning; apply for 10 minutes after waking
  • Adequate hydration will help prevent, but also resolve bruising quicker
  • These products take up to 2 weeks to settle and integrate with the natural collagen/elastin in your tissues
  • If symptoms of lightening or red discoloration, sharp pain, severe swelling or vision changes develop, call immediately

Things to Avoid

  • Avoid touching your skin and applying skin care or make up for the rest of the day
  • Leave the PRP on the surface of the skin for at least 1 hour after treatment; after 1 hour, gentle soap and water can be utilized to wash the skin
  • Be gentle when washing and be sure to apply sunscreen daily for at least the first several days after treatment
  • Avoid all acids, toners, retinol, scrubs, brushes, exfoliants, and harsh topicals for at least 1 week after treatment

Things to Remember

  • The numbness from numbing cream slowly resolves over about 1-2 hours after treatment
  • Redness and tiny pin-point dots are expected for several days after treatment
  • The surface of the skin may or may not peel after treatment
  • Collagen stimulation and textural improvement occurs gradually over 6-8 weeks after treatment
  • For a scheduled series of treatments, space the treatments roughly 30 days apart
